The Following material has been put together in an effort to assist individuals interested in swapping alternative engines into their vehicles. This initially started with my interest in swapping a diesel engine into my 1995 Jeep Wrangler. Over time, and with the help of many others, this list has grown into what you see currently. Because there is an unlimited list of engine swap possibilities, this site should always be considered a work in progress! The image below denotes the proper way to take measurements for this site. Most of the information contained herein is based on data on manufacturers web sites. However, if you should find any inaccuracies please let me know so I can correct it. Please not that non-industrial engines are not likely to have the extended bell housing flange illustrated on the diesel engine above. Therefore, measurements sould be taken at the predominant surface of the bell housing flange in most cases.

Note:					Note that the width is for XJ/MJ/YJ engines; the Grand Cherokee has an intake that is about an inch wider. The width is the same for all other 1987-2004 4.0L models -- it incorporates the EGR valve for 87-90 models. There is no EGR on 91-up models, but the intake is that much wider. Subtract 2" from height if using an AMC passenger car oil pan (four quart pan, Jeep uses five quart pan that will hang to low in a car).
